JoJo's Best Friend

A lot of time is spent talking about things like sibling rivalries and jealousies and stuff like that, but (for the most part) we have been blessed with kids who genuinely like being around each other. Laney and Savannah were/are like best friends. At the high school Savannah and Spencer have so much fun hanging out with each other that some people who don't know them think that they are dating (a little creepy, but they don't really look exactly alike, so I guess I can see how someone might be mistaken). JoJo and Hyrum have been best buds for their whole life, and Hyrum is always making sure to take good care of his younger brother.

Anyway, every once in a while I find a little thing about the love my kids have for each other that warms my heart. I was going through JoJo's school work a few days ago, and I saw an assignment he completed for his third grade class this week. They were working on how to construct good paragraphs, and JoJo chose to write a paragraph about his best friend. Here is it:

Too cute! For those of you who can't decipher the chicken scratch of an eight year-old boy:
Do you want to hear about my best friend? His name is Hyrum, and he is my brother that is in fifth grade. I know that he is my friend because he is nice and one of my friends that stands up for me when I'm in trouble. And we both like fighting each other and it is fun for us. So every day we play with each other. We he each other out when my other brother, Spencer, beats me up at home.
For the record, when JoJo talks about fighting I'm pretty sure he is talking about wrestling and Jedi fights that they have sometimes ... we're not running a fight academy here. And Spencer really doesn't spend time beating JoJo up. He's a good boy too.

Anyway ... I just thought that was super sweet. I'm so glad they love each other. I love my family!
