A Question for China Adoptive Families

I'm not sure how many (or if there are any) Chinese adoptive families who follow this blog, but if so I have a question.  I am considering writing a short book about how we were able to travel to China as a family and enjoy the culture and society there without a travel guide.  I was very nervous before I left to visit, and I am sure that many other potential adoptive families probably feel the same way.  But we were able to have a wonderful time exploring the country on our own.  I thought that some families might be interested in seeing how we managed it with our six (and then seven) children in tow, in case they might be interested in doing the same.

Do any of you think that this might be something that would interest a family headed to China?  Please comment below or send me an email at mamamelreads at gmail.com.  This probably won't be a book that I publish for any sort of real monetary profit, but it might be something that would be beneficial to other families.  I just don't know.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Melissa

  1. I loved reading your travel blog - and if we were to go again I would want to do a trip more like yours than the one we had. Wuhan was not enjoyable for us...basically felt like trapped rats in a really nice hotel. I know if we had traveled together I would have enjoyed the trip so much more. Our guide was useless beyond the adoption work. Pointing us in the right direction was all she was interested in...pointing - and that is about it. You guys "did it right" and I think a book of your adventures would be inspirational to anyone about to make the trip. I think if you take a heavy hand with the comedy it would be perfect. Many parts of your travel blog had me laughing out loud...it would be a great read for anyone getting ready to travel! Go for it! P.S. So glad Minsy is fitting right in - Luci is a total superstar too...must be Wuhan!

  2. I think it would be hysterical to have some of Herman's Posts with yours. Kind of a Her/His perspective, because they were definitely different but oh-so-entertaining. :)
