Minsy's I Love You Moment

All of the sudden Minsy is turning into a little girl. Oh, she is still super tiny. But sometime in the last three weeks she stopped seeming like such a baby girl to me. Her language seems to blossom more and more each day, she's getting a bit taller, and her features seem more refined. I can't wait to see the pediatric endocrinologist next week to see how much she has grown in the last three months. He's kind of anal when it comes to measuring her, so he'll be able to tell us how much she has grown to the very millimeter.

A typical Minsy conversation with me:

Minsy comes into my room carrying some object -- today it was a stuffed monkey.

Minsy: "ook. 'ook!" (She still can't say the 'L' sound.)

Me: "Wow, Minsy! What is that?"

Minsy: "A wa wa." (wa wa is doll in Chinese.)

Me: "That's a monkey."

Minsy: "Wha?"

Me: "A monkey."

Minsy: "Whoa."

I think I have this conversation with Minsy ten times a day involving all sorts of objects around the house. Way cute!

Well, today Minsy learned to say something else. Laney taught Minsy how to say "I love you." It is so adorable! Now, I'm not sure if she is really meaning it when she says it. But this is a first step. Even if she doesn't quite say it on her own and is only mimicking us right now, it still melts my heart to hear it. I am loving the chance we have to watch Minsy drink up all of the language and ideas around her as she becomes more and more acclimated to life as a Blau. I love our little Chinese wonder child!
